​Through public input received at Town Hall meetings, Council meetings and the community-based Strategic Plan (2015-2020), Council has implemented a number of initiatives to address public concerns regarding parking within the Township of Tiny.

2017 Open Parking Conversion to Permit Parking and Pay Parking at Major Beach Parks

​At the March 2nd, 2017 Committee of the Whole meeting Council reviewed Clerks Report CR-005-17, 2017 Open Parking conversion to Permit Parking and Consistent Parking at the Five Major Beach Parks. The staff report set out the background material, the expansion area, staff resources, costs, communication plan, evaluation process and the requirement for by-law amendments. Council received the below report and directed staff to proceed with the 2017 changes as set out in Approved Resolution #079/17.

2017 Parking Program Evaluation

Council welcomes your feedback or recommendations to improve our Township of Tiny parking systems. Comments can be sent by letter or email as noted below. Please include your name and address on your correspondence as well as permission to release your details on the public agenda. The commenting period regarding the 2017 Parking Programs will close on September 30th, 2017. All comments will be consolidated for Council review in the fall of 2017.

2016 Open Parking Conversion to Permit Parking (Pilot Program)

2016 Pilot Parking Program

At the February 29th, 2016 Committee of the Whole meeting Council discussed the permit parking system in place for 2015 and previous years. Through that discussion, Council directed staff to report back on the feasibility and impacts of a pilot parking program that would see all open parking conversion to permit parking based on the discussions at that meeting.

At the March 30th, 2016 Committee of the Whole meeting Council reviewed Clerks Report CR-006-16, 2016 Pilot Parking Strategy – Open Parking conversion to Permit Parking. The staff report set out the background material, the pilot area (between Concession 8 West & Concession 12 West and west of the Nippissing Ridge), staff resources, costs, communication plan, pilot evaluation and necessary by-law amendments. Council received the below report and directed staff to proceed with the 2016 Pilot Parking Program as set out in Resolution #184/16 within the below attachment.

At the April 11th, 2016 Committee of the Whole meeting Council reviewed Clerks Report CR-009-16, 2016 Pilot Parking Program – Parking By-law Amendment. The staff report set out the necessary by-law amendments to implement the strategy. Additionally, the report included draft By-law 06-026 to recognize the two new offences created.

The commenting period regarding the 2016 Pilot Parking Program closed on September 30th, 2016.  All comments will be consolidated into a single document and provided to Council for their review and consideration at the November 1st, 2016 Committee of the Whole meeting.

At the November 1st, 2016 Committee of the Whole meeting Council reviewed Clerks Report CR-048-16, 2016 Pilot Parking Strategy Update - Open Parking Conversion to Permit Parking between Concessions 8- 12. For ease of reference, the report contained the originally proposed plan outlined in Clerk's Report CR-006-16 in Blue font which became the Approved Plan through Resolution #184/16. The corresponding Update for each section of the report was in black font. Council received the report and Approved Recommendation #132/16 recommending that the Pilot Parking Program be expanded to the entire Township in 2017 with staff to report back on the implications including signage, staffing, communication strategy and expansion area.
