Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

New Partnership Agreement between the Township of Tiny and

the six Parks and Recreation Associations

There are six Parks and Recreation Associations in the Township of Tiny.  The associations were incorporated in 1987 via by-law and became legal entities.

In 2006, Council received the Recreation Master Plan Update, Draft Final Report, October 2006.  The Recreation Master Plan recommended the development and incorporation of a comprehensive operating Memorandum of Understanding between the Township of Tiny and the Recreation Associations.  In September 2008, Council made the MOU a priority by appointing resources to establish a transparent and neutral process to best secure a successful and supportive partnership between parties.  The six Parks and Recreation Associations and the Township of Tiny, in conjunction with facilitator David Clark, began the development of a new agreement, reflecting input from Council, the Community Recreation Committee, the six Associations and staff.  A Steering Committee, made up of one representative from each Parks and Recreation Association and three staff members, was formed to drive the project.
