The municipality sends out two tax bills every year
The first one is usually sent in February every year and is payable in one installment on the last Friday of March. This installment represents 50% of the previous year's taxes.
After the budget is completed, the treasurer calculates the tax rates that will be used to levy the required amount approved in the budget. Based on these tax rates a final bill is sent out to the ratepayers. Again this bill is payable in two installments due on the last Friday of June and September.
The municipality charges interest, at a rate of 15% per year, on any outstanding amount of taxes that have not been paid. The interest is charged on the first day of default and then on the first day of each month following.
Parts of the municipality have a water distribution system, which is on a user pay basis.
