Closed Circuit Television Program

The Township of Tiny implemented a number of steps in an effort to increase the public safety and reduce crime in the Balm Beach area. Using the basic principals of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) the municipality has trimmed up tree branches to improve visibility, added additional lighting, limiting overnight parking and installed a closed circuit television system which electronically records activity at Balm Beach Public Park.

Guidelines and procedures were established for the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Program. These guidelines have been drafted to conform to practices outlined by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario ("IPC") document entitled: "Guidelines for Using Video Surveillance Cameras in Public Places" .

For additional information on the program, please contact the Chief Municipal Law Enforcement Officer at (705) 526-4136.
