Transportation Master Plan

Project Overview

The Township of Tiny is developing its first Transportation Master Plan (TMP). TMP's are long-range plans that guide transportation planning and infrastructure needs to accommodate growth and development. As part of the TMP, we will identify existing challenges and opportunities and propose solutions that help to improve connectivity and travel times, increase safety, and encourage active transportation.

This multi-modal plan will address existing and future vehicular, bicycle, pedestrian, transit and off-road vehicle (ORV) mobility, including all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and snowmobiles. The TMP study will provide recommendations for operational, design, and transportation policies that the Township will use to manage its transportation infrastructure up to 2031.

The Process

The Tiny TMP is being undertaken in accordance with the Master Planning Process and will generally address Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Municipal Engineers Association, 2000 as amended 2015) (Municipal Class EA), which is an approved process under Ontario's Environmental Assessment Act. The TMP will provide the framework for future projects that may require further detailed studies under the Municipal Class EA. This study will be conducted in four stages and we anticipate study completion in the fall of 2021:

  1. Stage 1 – Background Context and Existing Conditions
  2. Stage 2 – Future Needs and Opportunities
  3. Stage 3 – Assessment of Alternatives and Preferred Solutions
  4. Stage 4 – Implementation/Costing

Future Stages

Future consultation activities, including two Public Information Centres (PICs), will give you the opportunity to provide feedback on specific transportation challenges to help us develop solutions. More information about the study, key dates, events, and other opportunities to participate will be available on this website as the study progresses. If you would like subscribe to the TMP mailing list to be notified about study updates, please email your contact information to the study email at
