Municipal Library Services

The township supports the important service that libraries provide to our community and is working to ensure that residents can enjoy the benefits of a household library membership at the library of their choice.

Tiny residents can obtain a non-resident library membership at one of four area libraries: Midland, Springwater, Penetanguishene, or Wasage Beach. Under Council direction, reimbursement is limited to one library per household. This means that residents can choose the library that is most convenient for them to use, and all members of that household can go to that library. Note: Library memberships are limited to one per household in total, not a membership at each library.

The Township of Tiny has agreements in place with the Midland and Springwater libraries for library services in 2024, and under Council direction given in October 2024, staff are working to renew these agreements for 2025.  These agreements are between the township and the particular library to provide a seamless transition for our residents and will not require any money to be paid upfront by residents. For residents choosing to go to the Penetanguishene or Wasaga Beach libraries, the township will reimburse the cost of the library membership.

Midland Public Library

An agreement has been confirmed with the Midland Library for 2024, meaning that Tiny residents can choose the Midland Library as their library of choice, and receive a membership for their household to enjoy their library services. Tiny residents can obtain a Midland Library card for their household without paying any money out of pocket.

Springwater Public Library

An agreement has been confirmed with the Springwater Library for 2024, meaning that Tiny residents can choose the Springwater Library as their library of choice, and receive a membership for their household to enjoy their library services. Tiny residents can obtain a Springwater Library card for their household without paying any money out of pocket.

Penetanguishene Public Library

Tiny residents can choose the Penetanguishene Library as their library of choice and pay for a non-resident membership card from the Penetanguishene Library for their household, and bring the receipt into the Township of Tiny to be reimbursed by cheque. Residents can also submit receipts with their full name and address by email to taxdepartment@tiny.ca or mail to the Township Office at 130 Balm Beach Road West, Tiny, ON, L0L 2J0.

Wasaga Beach Public Library

In August 2024, Council voted to add the use of the Wasaga Beach Public Library as one of the options for Tiny residents. At this time, Tiny residents can choose the Wasaga Beach Library as their library of choice and pay for a non-resident membership card from the Wasaga Beach Library for their household, and bring the receipt into the Township of Tiny to be reimbursed by cheque. Residents can also submit receipts with their full name and address by email to taxdepartment@tiny.ca or mail to the Township Office at 130 Balm Beach Road West, Tiny, ON, L0L 2J0.
