(Tiny, ON) Municipal water users are advised that the flushing or swabbing of drinking watermains will occur this Spring. To view the 2023 Spring and Fall Watermain Flushing Schedule, please visit our website at www.tiny.ca/water or click here. As per the 2023 Watermain Flushing Schedule, the required work will take place Monday to Friday only between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
There may be potential water interruptions and discoloured water could stain laundry during these times. If your water remains discoloured or dirty, run water until clear. It is recommended water softeners are left in by-pass mode during these times.
This is a vital process to ensure the distribution system is in good working order for when they are needed most. This will also remove any accumulated sediment that is built up in the pipes and help ensure the cleanest water possible.
The Township of Tiny’s water distribution system is a complex network of pipes and storage reservoirs where sediment or deposits may naturally accumulate over time. If not removed, these materials may cause water quality deterioration, taste and odour problems, or discolouration of the water.
