Tiny Trails

The Tiny Trail is a 23 kilometre recreation multi-use trail.  It was one of Ontario’s first rail-to-trail conversions when it was purchased in 1978.  It is registered as part of the Trans Canada Trail System.  Its southern terminus is at the Tiny/Flos (Springwater) line 1.5 kilometres north of Elmvale.  It runs roughly west parallel to County Rd 6 and then angles northeastward to its north terminus at the southern town limits of Penetanguishene.  The trail passes over prime agricultural land and into areas of hardwood forest.  The Wye River and Copeland Creek meander across the trails.  There are 14 historic bridges on the Tiny Trail, 11 of which are located between its northern entrance and Concession 12 E.  This section of the trail is paved.  The remaining trail is surfaced with crushed stone.

The Tiny Trail is a shared use trail and permits a wide variety of uses.  Snowmobiles are permitted by permit only.  ATVs, Dirt bikes and street vehicles are not permitted on the trail.

The Township of Tiny has 70 km of shoreline. In the Township's Official Plan, a total of five parks have been recognized as large water township parks. It is also a policy of the Official Plan that these five parks function as the primary locations for public use and activity on the western shoreline. These large water parks are Woodland Beach, Bluewater Beach, Jackson Park, Balm Beach and Lafontaine Beach Park.

Boat Launch

Commemorative Tree & Bench Program

The commemorative tree and bench program is available for anyone who wishes to give a lasting legacy to the Township of Tiny.  The legacy is yours to give, whether it is to honour a loved one, an experience, an organization, an important event in your life, or to celebrate earth day;  Whatever your reason, your donation will be a welcome addition to our community.

Benches are constructed by a local company and come with a bench plaque.  Trees are locally sourced native species that will add to the natural habitat of your preferred planting location. Trees come with a plaque placed on the living legacy tree located at the Township offices.
