(Tiny, Ontario) It is with great sadness that the Township of Tiny announces the recent passing of Ross Hastings.

Mr. Hasting’s passion for his community was exemplified during his tenure on Council and as Warden of the County of Simcoe. Mr. Hastings served the Township of Tiny as Councillor from 1985 to 1988, as Deputy Reeve from 1988 to 1991 and as Reeve from 1991 to 1994. In 1993, he also served as Warden for the County of Simcoe.

The flags at the Municipal Office have been lowered to half-mast in recognition of this profound loss.

Mayor David Evans expressed his condolences for the Hastings Family in saying, “Words cannot express how deeply saddened we are by the passing of Ross Hastings. He will be remembered as a dedicated leader and community champion. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.”
