(Tiny, Ontario) The Township of Tiny’s Senior Advisory Committee invites you to register for our annual Senior Symposium event on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Township of Tiny Community Centre (91 Concession Road 8 East, Tiny).

This event provides an opportunity for seniors and caregivers to learn about services for older adults, and features a variety of presentations from local service providers with topics such as:

  • Memory Intervention for Older Adults led by Dr. Farena Pinnock, Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist, Pathway to Healing
  • Emergency Preparedness, led by Sahar Balvardi, Senior Emergency Management Coordinator, Canadian Red Cross – Simcoe Muskoka
  • Community Paramedicine Home Visit Program led by Christy Campbell, Community Paramedicine Home Visit Program, County of Simcoe

During the Symposium, we will be presenting the Senior of the Year Award. This award recognizes an outstanding senior who, during or after the age of 65, contributed to the enrichment of the social, cultural, or civic life of the Township of Tiny.

Township staff will provide an update on the new Age-Friendly Community Plan and give participants a copy of the enhanced 2026-2028 North Simcoe Directory of Senior Services.

“As part of our commitment to being an age-friendly community, we are proud to offer events and programs that cater to a broad range of ages and interests,” said Mayor David Evans. “In partnership with our Senior Advisory Committee, our Senior Symposium event is an ideal space for older adults to connect and learn about services, programs, and health and safety information that is designed specifically for them.”

The symposium includes lunch and several opportunities to socialize. Admission is free, but spaces are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. This annual event sells out quickly; pre-register now to save your spot!
