Special Meeting of the Heritage Advisory Committee Monday, February 24, 2025, 4:30 p.m.

TAKE NOTICETHAT a Special Meeting of the Heritage Advisory Committee (HAC) will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

Section 27 of the Ontario Heritage Act requires municipalities to keep a publicly accessible Municipal Heritage Register which lists properties of cultural heritage value or interest. The Township of Tiny’s Municipal Heritage Register contains two classifications of properties: ‘Listed’ and ‘Designated’. 

Due to changes in provincial legislation, the township must either designate or remove properties from the Heritage Register by January 2027. The Township of Tiny is working with MHBC Planning to evaluate the cultural heritage significance of each ‘Listed’ property on the registry and reports have been produced that provide MHBC’s recommendations on which properties should be removed or designated on the Heritage Register. 

The township is holding this special meeting of the HAC to review and receive feedback from the public on the reports and recommendations from MHBC Planning. No decisions will be made at this meeting. Any recommended changes to the Heritage Register would be considered by Council at a future date.
