(Tiny, ON) The Township of Tiny Fire and Emergency Services Department will be conducting live fire safety training exercises at Station #2 - Wyevale, 817 County Road 6 South, from Tuesday, October 11, 2022, to Saturday, October 15, 2022.

This type of training is essential to providing the community with well-trained firefighters. This exercise will allow our personnel a chance to enhance their skills in suppression activities and to work safely in a controlled environment for future fire and life safety needs.

Please note that smoke may be visible from time to time. Smoke generated from training burns will be much less than normally experienced at a typical structure fire. All precautions have been made for the safety of surrounding properties.

The new mobile training units are part of the province’s plan to expand and modernize access to firefighting training and will bring additional high-quality, hands-on training directly to fire services in all regions of the province.

As part of the training offered via the mobile training units, firefighters will experience real flames, extreme heat, high humidity, severely restricted visibility, and thick smoke during their real-world training. The fire simulation firefighter training meets the job performance requirements outlined in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) training standards.

“As we work to build safer communities across the Township, ensuring that our volunteer firefighters continue to have access to the latest world-class training is critically important,” said Dave Flewelling, Director of Fire and Emergency Services/Fire Chief. “With the live fire training units, our firefighters have access to high quality, live fire training in our community to ensure public safety.”
