Accessibility – Tuesday, March 22nd, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Accessibility features are designed to help people use technology more easily. Most computers and mobile devices come with built-in accessibility features, although they'll usually need to be turned on before you can use them. In this workshop we'll introduce you to some common accessibility features.

Social Media – Tuesday, March 29th, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

This workshop will introduce you to a selection of social media platforms and explain how they can be used to share information, ideas, interests, and other forms of expression. Knowing how to use social media to stay in touch with friends and family, promote your cause or keep up with news is an essential skill. We're here to help.

Digital Photography Basics – Tuesday, April 5th, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

A smartphone (and/or tablet) is probably the most convenient camera you can have.  You'll always have it with you, it fits in your pocket, and it doesn't require any manual adjustments before you can take a photo. Learn how your phone's camera works so you'll be ready when you want to take a photo. Plus 10 everyday uses for your phone's camera.

Online Shopping – Tuesday, April 12th, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Online shopping is a convenient way to buy almost anything from the comfort of your home. And while there are some risks with shopping online, there are also many ways to protect yourself and your financial information. Join this workshop and learn how to have the best possible experience shopping online.

Workshops are offered as part of the Township’s Coffee & Connect program for Adults 55+. Each Tuesday, bring your own tech device at the Wyebridge Community Centre, use free WiFi, have refreshments and enjoy meeting others from the community. No device? No problem! We provide loaner iPads along with technology support.

Gateway Centre for Learning is a non-profit, charitable organization providing year-round learning programs and services for residents of North Simcoe developed and delivered by trained volunteers and professional staff.
