(Tiny, Ontario) This year, the Township of Tiny is encouraging the community to rally behind the Earth Week theme “Invest in Our Planet”, which highlights the importance of dedicating our time, resources, and energy to solving climate change and other environmental issues. This Earth Week get inspired and take action by investing in our planet and taking part in activities that promote a green community.

What's Happening this Earth Week?

We are hosting various activities, which include a cooking class using local and sustainable ingredients, a presentation from our partners at Severn Sound Environmental Association (SSEA) about shoreline naturalization and invasive species, a guided nature hike at Awenda Provincial Park, and more! All week long at the Municipal Office, we’re giving away free seed packets to help our community attract pollinators, hosting a book swap library, and accepting e-Waste (electronic waste).

“By being mindful of our effect on the earth, we can make small changes that add up to create a positive environmental impact,” said Mayor David Evans. “From participating in litter pickups to planting pollinator-friendly plants we can create a more sustainable future for ourselves and future generations.”
