(Tiny, Ontario) On Saturday August 26, the Township of Tiny hosted its annual Farm Crawl event for 2023. Guests toured five locations across Tiny, including four different farms and the township’s Community Garden, to experience the rich agricultural history of the community and the importance of supporting local farmers and growers. Tickets for the Farm Crawl were sold for $70 and included admission to all four farms, a guided shuttle bus between locations, sampler stations at each farm, and ‘swag bags’ filled with local food and tourism information and some goodies from participating farm businesses.
Stops throughout the day included tours of the Perkinsfield Community Garden, Celtic Roots Equestrian, Monpiero Farms, Rice Family Farm, and Windlee Farms. Participants had the opportunity to visit goats, donkeys and horses, take in beautiful views during walks through each farm, shop at vendors for local products, and get an inside look at local agricultural and farming operations. The event also supported Tiny’s farmers and growers directly by giving guests an opportunity to purchase products from the farms.
“I want to thank all of our participating farms for sharing their passion for agriculture with participants and highlighting the importance of supporting local farmers and growers to our community,” said Mayor Evans. “The township would also like to thank everyone that took part in and helped plan this event to make it such a huge success”.
