(Tiny, Ontario) The Township of Tiny is excited to celebrate Pollinator Week that runs from June 17-23, 2024. As part of the celebrations, the community is invited to pick up free seed packages throughout the week and participate in the Pollinator Fair on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
Pollinator Week is an annual sustainability initiative that recognizes the importance of pollinators and encourages action to protect them and their habitats.
“As a designated Bee City, the Township of Tiny is proud to promote healthy, sustainable habitats and communities for pollinators, and is committed to environmental stewardship initiatives like Pollinator Week,” said Mayor David Evans. “Plan to join us to make a difference”.
To celebrate pollinators, the township will be making free seed packages available throughout the week during business hours at the Township Office, located at 130 Balm Beach Road West.
On Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. the township will be hosting a Pollinator Fair at the Community Garden located in the southeast corner of Perkinsfield Park (43 County Road 6, Tiny). The event will feature local vendors, organizations such as the Severn Sound Environmental Association (SSEA), the Wye Marsh, and the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, and pollinator friendly activities for all ages.
