Citizen Code of Conduct

The Township of Tiny regularly interacts with members of the public and in doing so strives to:

  • provide services in a prompt, professional and respectful manner.
  • address service requests and complaints from members of the public equitably, comprehensively and in a timely manner.

This is done in an environment that promotes a respectful, tolerant, and violence and harassment-free workplace for its employees, volunteers, members of Council and the public.

In addition to the authority under the Municipal Act to regulate conduct in public spaces, municipalities have the inherent duty as local governments to maintain order and act in the public interest.  This includes fostering respectful and orderly conduct in municipal spaces and in interactions with municipal representatives.

To ensure that the workplace and public interactions meet the goals of the Township, the Citizen Code of Conduct outlines the Township's expectations for acceptable behaviour of the members of the public and the possible consequences of inappropriate behaviour.
