The Township is actively responding to the current spring thaw/runoff weather and the increased rainfall affecting our community. Our Public Works crews are working diligently to ensure the municipal drainage network operates at its highest possible capacity during this period of intense precipitation.

Our Public Works team is deploying a portable pump in various locations across the township to prevent damage to our road infrastructure. These additional measures are not normal but are needed to respond to the increased water levels that are overwhelming our drainage systems that were designed for water run off from roads only. The intent is to lower the water levels at road crossings that drain into Georgian Bay through established drainage systems.
Reminder: Residents are not permitted to pump water from their property directly into the road ditch system. Not only can additional water from properties severely impact the integrity of our road network, it also impacts properties and your neighbours down stream and in low-lying areas.
