(Tiny, Ontario) The Township of Tiny is celebrating National Youth Week, May 1 to 7, with a series of free activities for youth. National Youth Week is an annual nationwide celebration focusing on youth and highlighting their positive contributions to their community through arts, sports, and civic engagement. 

Activity Schedule

Youth Meta Quest VR and Switch Mario Kart Party

  • Friday, May 1, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Wyebridge Community Centre
  • This activity allows youth to compete against friends in a Nintendo Switch Mario Kart Tournament on a large screen and play immersive VR gaming with Meta Quest 3. 
  • Free pizza, popcorn, and drinks provided in a relaxed, youth-only space. 

Youth Pickleball Open Play

  • Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Perkinsfield Park Pavilion
  • This activity reserves the courts just for youth to enjoy the game of pickleball rain or shine. All skill levels are welcome, and equipment is provided. 
  • Free pizza is available in this casual, drop-in event. Registration is required (in advance or on site) with parent/guardian waiver. 

Life-Sized Board Games Café and Craft Corner 

  • Monday, May 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Wyebridge Community Centre
  • This activity allows youth to enjoy giant versions of classic games like Connect 4 and Jenga, play trivia, and create crafts to take home, while listening to music. 
  • Café-style snacks and beverages are provided in this youth-focused community space. 

“National Youth Week is the perfect opportunity to celebrate all of the youth in our region and their positive contributions to making Tiny a better place,” said Mayor David Evans. “We are excited to have free activities for youth that offer a comfortable place for them to connect and socialize with one another, have fun, and celebrate all that they do for our community.”
