Voting Day for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Trustee Election is Monday, October 26, 2026. However, in the Township of Tiny, the voting period will be offered through by internet and telephone voting from Tuesday, October, 13, 2026, until Monday, October 26, 2026.
The Township of Tiny will be offering Internet and Telephone Voting from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, until Monday, October 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
Questions should be sent to the Township of Tiny’s Clerk’s Department at elections@tiny.ca.
Voter Questions
Instructions will be mailed out to all registered voters in their Voter Instruction Letter (VILs). The letter will provide a unique code required to vote and the website and phone number that registered voters can use to vote. VILs will be delivered to Canada Post for distribution at the end of September, 2026.
Voting for the 2026 Municipal Election will be by internet and telephone voting options only. Assistance will be provided in-person at the Election Help Centre for those that require help with internet voting. There are no paper ballots.
The Election Help Centre is located in the Council Chambers at the Township Office at 130 Balm Beach Road West.
The Election Help Centre will be available to Electors as follows:
- Tuesday October 13, 2026 - 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Wednesday October 14, 2026 - 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Thursday October 15, 2026 - 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Friday October 16, 2026 - 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Monday October 19 - 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Tuesday October 20 - 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Wednesday October 21 - 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Thursday October 22 - 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Yes. All eligible voters are encouraged to ensure you are on the voters list and that your information such as your birthday, name, and address are correct so that you receive your Voter Instruction Letter (VIL) in the mail.
You can register to vote or update your information at RegisterToVoteOn.ca.
To be eligible to vote, you must meet the qualifications of electors as listed in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, s.17(2).
A person is entitled to be an elector in the Township of Tiny, on voting day, if they meet all of the following conditions:
- A Canadian citizen;
- At least 18 years old;
- A resident, owner or tenant of land in the Township of Tiny, or the spouse of such tenant or owner;
- Not prohibited from voting under any law.
You may only vote once in the Township of Tiny Municipal Election regardless of how many properties you own or rent within the Township.
If your name does not appear on the Voters’ List in the Township of Tiny and the property is a secondary residence (meaning it is not your principal residence, and not a second property within the Township of Tiny), please consult pages 5–6 of the "How to maintain your information in the Register" instruction sheet for direction on confirming and updating your voter information.
For those that missed updating their school support with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation by June 1, 2026, there will be a second opportunity to update your school support beginning August 17, 2026. Please check back for updates in August.

Candidate Questions
To run for municipal Council, you must meet the following requirements:
- be a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years of age
- be a resident or non-resident elector in the municipality where you are filing your nomination
- be eligible to hold office on the day your nomination is filed
To become a candidate in the 2026 Municipal, a person must show proof of their identity and qualifying address, including a photo and signature, their nomination paper and the appropriate filing fee ($200 for Office of Mayor, $100 for all other offices).
Candidates for Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillors must provide at least 25 endorsements of nomination from eligible Tiny Township voters. The nomination paper and endorsement of nomination forms must have original signatures.
Nominations are now open and will close on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Nominations will not be accepted after the deadline.
All Candidates must book an appointment with the Clerk to file their Nomination Papers. Please email elections@tiny.ca to book an appointment.
In order to run for Council in the 2026 Municipal Election, you must complete the Nomination Paper (Form 1), obtain at least 25 signatures on the Endorsement of Nomination Form (Form 2), file your Nomination papers with the Clerk and pay the filing fee prior to the deadline. You cannot begin accepting donations or any campaign activities until your nomination papers have been officially filed.
The filing fee for nomination to the position of Mayor is $200 and $100 for all other positions.
Payment must be made by cash, certified cheque, debit, or money order payable to the Township of Tiny.
Election Sign By-law Questions
Under Election Sign By-law 26-019, election signs can be erected beginning Friday, August 21, 2026.
No. Election signs are not permitted on Township property such as parks, municipal buildings, facilities, voting locations, election help centres, etc.
Each candidate can have a maximum of 300 signs on road allowances throughout the township. Please note that these signs are not permitted:
- On or over the street or sidewalk
- Closer than 1m to the edge of the roadway
- The road allowance between a sidewalk and the edge of a street
- On a road allowance adjacent to parks
Note that elections signs are prohibited within a sight triangle at the intersection of two roadways.
Election signs can be on private property under these conditions:
The number of signs per candidate or registered third party on private property is limited to the number streets abutting the property. For example, if the property touches one street, one sign is permitted. If the property is a corner lot, two signs would be permitted.
The maximum size of an election sign is 1.2m by 1.2m (4ft by 4ft).
The maximum height of a sign is 1.5m (5ft) when measured from grade to the highest point of the sign on road allowances. This does not apply to private properties.
