Join us for the Committees/Boards Open House to learn more about our 2022-2026 Advisory Committees and Boards

Enjoy some light refreshments and check out the many committee and board display booths. Our Staff Resources will be on-site to answer questions and share more information about what it means to be one of our amazing committee and board volunteers.

Seniors Keeping Active

Physical activity is essential to Healthy Aging.  This workshop will show why activity can help prevent or delay many of the health problems that seem to come with age.  It also helps muscles grow stronger so you can keep doing your day-to-day activities without becoming dependent on others.  Keep in mind, that some physical activity is better than none at all.  We also hope to show how volunteerism helps keep Seniors both socially and physically active. Light refreshments will be provided. 

Hosted by the Prevention of Senior Abuse Network Simcoe County (PSAN-SC), information will be shared regarding different types of Powers of Attorney; the difference between Guardianship and a POA and so much more. Coffee, tea, and snacks provided. 

Introducing Tiny's Fall 2022 Senior Speaker Series

The Township of Tiny’s Senior Advisory Committee, in partnership with local clubs and service providers, is excited to offer four workshops geared towards addressing issues related to seniors.  Refreshments provided. 

“Healthy Eating for Seniors”

Healthy eating is a key part of aging well. As you age, you face different changes that make eating seem more challenging.  We will show you how to cope with these issues.

“Physiotherapist VS Chiropractor”

Do you know the difference? There are differences & similarities between seeing a Physiotherapist or a Chiropractor. This speaker series will aid you in making the proper choices.

“Planning the Future”

Learn how to access specific services in our community for the needs of aging Seniors as well as procedures for assessment for home care or for placement in alternative housing.  It is hoped that the Seniors who attend this workshop can be accompanied by a family member, friend, or possible future Caregiver. Coffee, tea, and snacks provided.

The Township of Tiny does hereby proclaim July 25 to August 7, 2022 as Fierté Simcoe Pride

WHEREAS; This marks the eleventh annual Fierté Simcoe Pride, and its purpose is to create a safe and inclusive Simcoe County that supports gender and sexual diversity through services, activities and events; and

The Township of Tiny is excited to host outdoor family movie nights again this summer season. The series of seven family-friendly movies will be shown weekly throughout July and August at parks and greenspaces throughout the community.

Movies will begin at dusk (approximately 9:00pm) with seating starting at 8:30pm. All movies are free of charge and registration is not required. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks, chairs and blankets. In the event of inclement weather, movies may be rescheduled or cancelled.
