(Tiny, Ontario) Over the period of August 28 to August 30, Township of Tiny By-law Officers were on full patrol responding to calls ranging from signs to noise.

Township By-law Officers patrolled 250km throughout the municipality via bicycles. A total of 32 complaints were responded to for various concerns:

Temporary Beach Encroachments
Residents and visitors are reminded that personal items/private property cannot be left unattended or on municipally owned property overnight. Personal property also cannot be stored on municipal property. Examples of personal items include but are not limited to:
- chairs
- tables
- watercraft
- boats and their launches/docks/lifts
- decks/platforms
- fire pits
- umbrellas and tents
- kayaks; and
- paddleboards
Personal items left on municipal property will be labelled with a yellow warning tag and must be removed within seven calendar days. Where a tagged item is not removed within seven calendar days, the municipality will remove the items and store them at a municipal facility to allow property owners to recover their items. If the items at the municipal facility are not claimed by the owner within 30 days, the items will be disposed of.
Shoreline By-law
The Township of Tiny’s new shoreline protection and permit process are temporarily on hold due to appeals of the new by-laws.
On May 26, 2025, the Township of Tiny enacted three by-laws to regulate site alteration activities within Tiny’s shoreline through a permit process. The by-laws enacted include:
- By-law 25-035 to adopt Official Plan Amendment #5;
- By-law 25-039 to amend Zoning By-law 22-05; and
- By-law 25-040 to enact a Shoreline By-law
The Zoning By-law and Official Plan Amendments (By-laws 25-039 and 25-035) are being appealed to the Ontario Land Tribunal and the Shoreline By-law (By-law 25-040) is being appealed to the Superior Court which means that the previously enacted Interim Control By-law remains in effect until the appeal process is complete. This means that new structures, fences, boathouses, retaining walls, patios, decks, landscaping and site alteration in proximity to the 178-metre contour elevation of the Georgian Bay Shoreline continues to be prohibited at this time.
During the appeal processes, the Township is unable to process permits for work within proximity to the 178-metre contour elevation of the Georgian Bay Shoreline, as intended through the enactment of the Shoreline By-law

Permit Parking Update
Township of Tiny Council passed Parking Amendment By-law 26-033 at the August 5, 2026, meeting of Council.
Amendments to the parking by-law have shortened the time required for permit parking in Tiny from the previous schedule of April 15th to October 15th to the new dates of May 14th to September 15th, annually.
As noted in the Council resolution, Council continues to support the usage of Township of Tiny beaches on a resident first, neighbours second, and tourist third model. These changes are intended to help drive economic development for local businesses through increased neighbour and tourist usage in the shoulder seasons.
