Township of Tiny Municipal Law Enforcement wraps up fireworks enforcement campaign

The “Fireworks Enforcement Campaign” took place between June 28 to July 5, 2022, with stepped-up visibility and enforcement by Officers. The objectives of the campaign were to:

Over the course of the 8-day campaign, the By-law Department attended to 23 Fireworks complaints. During the campaign, a total of 6 charges were issued. Charges were issued for the following offences:

We would like to remind the public to review the Fireworks By-law 21-102.

  • Fireworks can only be discharged on Victoria Day, Canada Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year’s Day and are strictly prohibited outside of these four days.
  • Fireworks shall not be set off on Township-owned lands such as beaches, parks, or highways.
  • The sale of fireworks within the municipality is now limited to the seven days prior to any of the permitted days for setting off fireworks.
  • A ticket or summons to appear in court could be issued with fines ranging between $365.00 to $100,000.00 to anyone caught violating this by-law.

Enforcement Summer Coverage Hours

Monday to Thursday (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.)

Friday and Saturday (9:00 a.m. through to 3:00 a.m.)

Sunday (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
