Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week

As part of Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week, happening November 1-7, the Township of Tiny Fire and Emergency Services Department is reminding residents about the risks of carbon monoxide and the important steps to take to avoid exposure in their homes. Carbon monoxide alarms are required in all Ontario homes that have a fuel-burning (wood, oil, natural gas, propane) appliance, fireplace or an attached garage.

Watermain swabbing to take place on Perkinsfield Water System

Please be advised that watermain swabbing will occur on Monday, October 17, 2022, and Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., on the Perkinsfield Water System.

The public water tap located on Balm Beach Road will be shut off during the routine watermain swabbing. An alternative tap location is available at the following location: 780 Balm Beach Road. East, in Midland.

Extended hours for Voter Registration

Please be advised that extended hours for Voter Registration will take place on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Municipal Office, 130 Balm Beach Road West.

Extended hours will be provided at the Municipal Office to accommodate those who cannot attend during regular business hours. Eligible electors will be able to register to vote and obtain their Vote by Mail kits. The ballot package within the kit can be completed at this time and placed in the Ballot Box provided.

The Township of Tiny joins other municipalities across Ontario in celebrating Local Government Week the 3rd week in October annually. This is an opportunity for students and youth to increase their civic awareness and share their ideas about what's important to them as Tiny residents.

This year’s FPW campaign, “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape™”, works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe from home fires.

Today’s homes burn faster than ever. You may have as little as two minutes (or even less time) to safely escape a home fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Your ability to get out of a home during a fire depends on early warning from smoke alarms and advance planning.
