In 1996, the Governor General of Canada, Roméo LeBlanc, proclaimed it National Aboriginal Day! It's an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the cultural richness and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. In 2017, the Prime Minister announced the day would be renamed National Indigenous Peoples Day.
WHEREAS: Township of Tiny’s older adults deserve to be treated with respect and dignity and valued as contributing members of society, imparting a wealth of experience and wisdom in our communities, and
WHEREAS: The International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, in support of the United Nations International Plan of Action, proclaimed this day to recognize the significance of elder abuse as a public health and human rights issue; and
Please join us for the official opening of the Overhead Bridge Road Trailhead with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The celebration will take place on June 15, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Overhead Bridge Road and Robert Street West. Refreshments will be provided.
