Trunk or Treat with the Tiny Township Lions!

We’re thrilled with the overwhelming interest in our Trunk or Treat on Saturday, 26 October! Here’s what you need to know:

For Families:

• No email registration needed! Please like the event page and comment on the discussion section with how many kids (12 and under) you’ll be bringing. This helps us prepare!

• We also ask that you bring a non-perishable food donation for the Elmvale Food Bank.

Now in its 24th year, Sainte-Marie’s First Light is a must-see holiday event with a great lineup of family-friendly activities, dynamic historical demonstrations, and live musical performances, all illuminated by the spectacular glow of thousands of candles. Get a head start on your holiday shopping at our extensive artisan market. Get cozy and enjoy tasty food by the fire. Experience the joys of the season, wrapped up in history!

The Hometown Harvest Festival is back at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons Thanksgiving Weekend. Come celebrate the abundance of the fall season! Put on a cozy sweater and shop our artisan market with more than 40 local vendors. Grab a coffee in our gift shop, then explore the site to take part in take-home crafts, try hands-on activities, meet our heritage breed animals, learn about the three sisters harvest, and enjoy historical presentations. This year Sainte-Marie is hosting Hometown Harvest themed contests this year!

Join us for a fascinating 2 hour workshop, shining the spotlight on deadly sac fungi, jelly fungi, gilled mushrooms, slime molds and parasitic plants growing at Wye Marsh. Learn about their ecological roles, and the incredible communication networks they form. Enjoy a guided tour and make your own "spore print" to take home! Ages 10+. $25.00 per person

Wild Rhythms and Natural Sounds

Immerse yourself in the musical world of nature. Learn how to identify the rhythms and melodies found in birdsongs and other sounds of the marsh. Let them inspire you - move you - and find expression through your body and voice. Join Maestro Fresh Air for this intriguing experimental two-and-a-half-hour journey. Enjoy a guided mindful walk along trails, breathing exercises, and collaborative music-making. Connect deeply with the nature – and your creative spirit! Ages 16+. $25.00 per person

Deadly or Delicious

Ever walk through the forest and wonder which plants are tasty, which ones have healing powers, and which ones are toxic? Find out the answers when you join us at the Wye Marsh to learn about some of the edible, medicinal, and poisonous plants living here. Gain an understanding of how to properly identify these plants, how some can be used beneficially, and the properties that make others harmful. Investigate these plants on a guided hike and create your own mini field guide to take home! Ages 10+. $25.00 per person
