Is the Canada Day Celebration accessible?
The Township of Tiny is committed to making the Canada Day Celebration as accessible and inclusive as possible. Staff have incorporated several accessibility measures into the event plan, including accessible parking, designated drop-off locations, and enhanced beach access features.
Where is accessible parking available?
Accessible parking spaces will be available within the event area and are reserved for vehicles displaying a valid accessible parking permit. Additional accessible parking spaces have been added specifically for the Canada Day Celebration. Spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.
What if accessible parking is full?
Visitors who are unable to secure an accessible parking space are encouraged to arrange for a family member, friend, caregiver, taxi, or other transportation service to drop them off at one of the designated event drop-off locations located closer to the event site.
Are there designated drop-off locations?
Yes. Designated drop-off locations will be available near the event area to assist individuals with mobility challenges, seniors, and others who may benefit from being dropped off closer to the celebration. Event maps identify these locations.
How far is the walk from the drop-off area to the event site?
Drop-off locations have been selected to minimize walking distances where possible. Event staff and volunteers will be available throughout the site to assist with directions.
Will there be accessible access to the beach?
Yes. Mobi-Mat pathways are be installed to improve access across the sand. An additional Mobi-Mat access point will be located closer to the stage area to improve access to event activities and waterfront viewing areas.
Are accessible washrooms available?
Accessible portable washrooms will be available on-site throughout the event area. Their locations will be identified on the event map (see Washrooms and Porta Potties locations).
Can I bring a support person?
Absolutely. Attendees who require assistance are welcome to attend with a support person, caregiver, family member, or companion.
Will seating be available?
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs where appropriate.
